Garden Mosaics

This program fosters in children an awareness and love of nature by involving them in hands-on activities that illustrate various aspects of nature. We bring in applicable knowledge of how nature works and practices that they can apply now in their lives and teach them that they can affect nature even at this point in time.

Garden Mosaics supports the life Science curriculum.  We do a lesson each of the months of Sept., Oct., Nov., Jan. Feb. March and April. The following topics are presented:

               Pollination

               Butterflies

               Vermiculture, composting, soil composition

               Invasives

               Forensic entomology/CSI

               Plant ID

Birds  (Function of the differently shaped beaks, and feathers and their habitat)
